COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE (CQ).

Our collective intelligence (CQ) is always greater than our individual intellectual quotient (IQ). This is because, organizations are about people. And, as leaders, while IQ feeds our ‘ego,’ CQ feeds ‘people.’ However, it’s often tempting for leaders to lean more towards IQ. Why? For one thing, it’s typically easier (although less effective) to lead from a place of command and control than trust and inspire. Also, systems may lack processes or the discipline to execute processes that enact collaboration. While IQ is rooted in a leader’s talent and ability, CQ is rooted in a system’s courage and commitment to enlarge collective capability. #LeadWithCQ
