DISRUPTION.

Disruptive leadership requires both self-awareness and courage. This is because "every system [and processes within the system] is perfectly designed to get the result that it does." (W. Edward Deming) To achieve different results, new products and services must change the status quo by taking a novel or revolutionary approach to an old problem. As Albert Einstein observes, the problems that we currently face cannot be solved on the level at which they were created. And disruption prevents a system, process, or event, from continuing as usual or as expected - promoting a new design and, ultimately, new results. However, as experienced leaders know, changing the status quo often creates a level of personal and organizational discomfort that must be purposefully (and skillfully) navigated before new, radical results can emerge. #LeadWithDisruption
