FRAMING.

Leadership can be a lonely endeavor. Part of the reason why is because leadership involves framing. As leaders, our trajectory and the trajectory of our institutions is framed by the words of our mouth (i.e. vision, mission, competencies and priorities) and constructed by our choices. The Latin phrase, ‘caveat ductor’ (let the leader beware), reminds leaders that if you let other people frame your world they will typically frame it too small. Effective leaders are both receptive and discerning, they both listen and stand apart. #LeadByFraming
