INFLUENCE.

Influence is the ability to shape outcomes. But the focus of influence is determined by the medium of the work. Artists create artwork using various media, architects imagine and then execute physical structures, and surgeons reconnect, repair and or remove tissue to promote health and wellness. Leaders are unique among professions because leaders don’t work on things, they work with people. General Colin Powell observes that effective leaders must be people centered because leadership is about ‘people.’ Specifically, it’s about getting people to work together effectively. So, whether leaders work in the private or public sector, effectiveness will (ultimately) be determined by how well people work together to get things done well. Predictable processes, practices and protocols are necessary to ensure that people not only understand what to do but also how to do it together (most effectively) towards optimal results. #LeadWithInfluence
