Stopping takes as much intentionality as starting and accelerating. Leaders are wired to run hard - whether with urgency and speed for short term goals, or with controlled intensity towards long term objectives. However, as CrossFitters and Orange Theory enthusiasts know, the best high intensity, interval, training workouts involve frequent breaks. And long distance runners training for half marathons or marathons understand that rest between training runs is essential to preventing overuse injuries. Similarly, effective leaders understand that intentional rest breaks, PURPOSEFUL STOPPING, is critical to maximizing both individual and collective performance.
